The planning starts with a process of discovery—getting to know CSU Pueblo: your goals, aspirations, current challenges, and opportunities for the future. We will gain a deep understanding of the campus existing facilities condition, capacity, and the way they are currently used. Systems affecting the daily life of the campus will be assessed including infrastructure and circulation including pedestrian, vehicular, and parking. Connectivity is affected by the quality and constraints of the campus landscape and natural systems. In addition to the core campus, the plan will examine connectivity with our Pueblo community, the region, the state, the nation, and the world. These systems determine the physical framework of the campus and opportunities for sustainable development.
During this phase, we will use data and analysis completed in the Understand phase to produce a full understanding of the campus’s challenges and opportunities. We will test various ways to organize uses on campus, accommodate new building footprints, create new transportation linkages, and enliven campus spaces. From this testing of ideas, we will share with you options for the future of campus.
The strongest ideas that emerge will be combined into one draft campus plan. This plan will add specificity to the character, location, and amount of new development, renovation, reuse, or re-purposed space. Additionally, we will create recommendations for improvements to campus systems.
During this last phase, we will document the campus plan in a final report in collaboration with CSU Pueblo. The campus plan will provide a strong, flexible framework to help guide your future vision!
